The Honorary Consulate of Austria in Victoria (also branded as Consulate General of the Republic of Austria in Victoria) is the official diplomatic office of the Republic of Austria serving Victoria, Australia. Based in St Kilda, Melbourne, it is led by Honorary Consul-General Eva Hussain (appointed March 2022), supported by Honorary Vice Consul Heidi Victoria and a Consular Officer. The consulate provides core consular services including Austrian passports and ID cards, citizenship matters for children of Austrian parents, document certification, criminal records checks, civil status certificates and emergency assistance. It works closely with Austrian clubs in Melbourne, Geelong and Albury-Wodonga, and supports organisations that promote Austrian business, German language, education, tourism and culture in Victoria. The office operates Wednesdays by appointment only and refers urgent matters to the Austrian Embassy in Canberra. It is not a trade promotion body in the manner of Advantage Austria; its support for businesses is mainly through advocacy, networking and community connection.
