The British Consulate General Brisbane is the UK Government's diplomatic post serving Queensland and the Northern Territory, operating as part of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office under the British High Commission in Canberra. Alongside consular services for UK nationals, the post hosts Department for Business and Trade (DBT) staff who promote two-way trade and investment between the UK and Australia. The Consul General concurrently serves as Country Trade Director for Australia, leading the DBT network across Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. DBT staff at the consulate provide UK exporters with market intelligence, in-market introductions, and practical export advice for the Queensland and Northern Territory markets, and help Australian businesses identify investment opportunities in the UK. The office is located at Level 9, 100 Eagle Street in Brisbane's CBD and is accessible by appointment. Sectors of focus reflect the strengths of the QLD/NT economies including resources, agritech, defence, infrastructure and clean technology.
