The Embassy of Switzerland in Australia is Switzerland's official diplomatic representation, based in Canberra and operating continuously since diplomatic relations were established in 1961. It covers all matters concerning diplomatic relations with Australia, Kiribati, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. The Embassy promotes Swiss political, economic, financial, legal, scientific, technological and educational interests in the region. It supports bilateral trade and investment promotion, advises on science, technology and education collaboration, and facilitates initiatives such as the Swiss-Australian Academic Network and trainee exchange programs. Consular and visa matters are handled by the Consulate General of Switzerland in Sydney. The mission provides networking, advocacy and regulatory guidance for Swiss companies engaging with the ANZ market and for Australian stakeholders engaging with Switzerland.
