ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA is the trade promotion organisation of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO), operating more than 110 offices in over 70 countries. The Sydney office, located at Level 10, 1 York Street, officially represents the Austrian business community in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Islands as the Trade Section of the Austrian Consulate General. It is led by Consul General and Trade Commissioner Ulrike Straka and supported by trade advisors specialising in construction and infrastructure, food/beverages/pharmaceuticals, and defence/technology/mining. Services include market intelligence on the Australian and New Zealand economies, business matchmaking between Austrian exporters and local partners, organisation of trade missions and business delegations, and individual consultancy on entering the ANZ region. The office acts as a bridge for Austrian companies seeking distributors, agents, customers or investment opportunities in the Asia-Pacific. It also provides Australian and New Zealand businesses with information on sourcing from and partnering with Austrian firms.
